A page turner
It's been a beautiful day today and I've been trying to get at least a tiny bit of a tan whilst rereading an Agatha Christie book (fortunately I have a real bad memory so I don't remember who did it.)
I love reading and I love books. And I have to admit that the current trend of e-books give me the shivers. I can't imagine a world without the smell of a new book or the pleasure of cracking a spine and turning pages. I think books also make the greatest addition to your interior (and there is so much you can learn about a person by the books they own). So I'm determined to keep the (sustainable) paper book alive!

Cat and house
This week I'm catsitting. My ward likes to eat snails and drink from the toilet but apart from that he's an adorable little kitty. So in honour of my new feline friend, I present you with some stylish pet beds.
(Although we all know of course that cats prefer laps over beds anytime)

Portrait of a lady
Every time I go to a second hand store, I flip trough the stacks of paintings hoping – not for a long lost Vermeer – but for that one piece that at first looks kitsch but in reality is a forgotten gem.
I dream of an intriguing, roughly painted, woman's portrait and I wish the next examples would pop up in a store near me soon.
PS. What is your secret second hand wish find?

It's a small world
Funny to see the next photo pop up everywhere on the blogosphere. It's my old neighbour's apartment. We have both moved on since, I wonder how he's doing now...

Back to work
Already for the second time this year I've been forced to spend a few days in bed due to sickness. I hope I'm done now for 2010. Otherwise I wish for a cheery bedroom make over, so then at least staring at the walls for a few days would be a bit more fun...

Singing in the rain shower
It's Monday and even after consuming my daily dose of caffeine I still feel tired and long for the comfort of my bed. Maybe a cold shower would work?

A different kind of crate
As many of you I can't leaf through a Vitra, Moroso or any other design catalogue without drooling. And as many of you I can't help but sighing when I get to the prices.
Fortunately great design can come cheap. An excellent example is crate storage. The simple crate once destined for every student's dorm can also look sophisticated in every grownup's home. And I got photographs to prove it!
